Five random things about me...

So apparently I've been tagged, I've got to post five random things about me and then tag somone else...

1. I've never kissed anyone except for my husband. Once a boy tried to kiss me (when I was 14) when I figured out that he was about to kiss me I took off running- literally. He 'broke up' with me the next day. After that I decided that I wasn't going to kiss anyone until I got married. I almost made it- but we didn't kiss until we were engaged.

2. I drink about 100 oz. of water a day.

3. I belong to several 'bulletin boards' online- LDS moms who 'post' messages and 'talk' all day long. I started 3 years ago and it's become addictive. It's my outlet and keeps me sane with 4 small children. I've met many of them 'irl' (in real life) and consider some of them some of my best friends. If you would have asked me three years ago if that was possible I wouldn't have thought it was.

4. I love to read- anything I can get my hands on. The scary thing is that my FIL, BIL (Chet) and I enjoy a lot of the same books. It gives me something to talk about with them though and that's good. It also gives me a source to trade books with. I'm currently reading a book I 'stole' from my FIL. (I promise to give it back if you're reading this Sherman- it's State of Fear)

5. I reread the previous 4 things and now I think I'm a nerd.

By this time next week...

That's what I keep saying. By this time next week we'll be in the new house , by this time next week we'll be going to the new ward, by this time next week....

Church today was bittersweet. This was the longest I've ever been in one ward. I love these people. I have so many memories and now we're starting over. Which is a little exciting too. But I'm going to miss this ward. Now we're going to be 'the new people'. I'm excited to meet new people and make new friends, I'm all social like that.

I'm also excited to start decorating a new house. I've got a blank slate to start over with. That's going to be fun. Especially since we can afford to decorate and buy furniture and stuff. Corinne also gets to move into the big crib and have her own room. It'll be nice to have the baby stuff out of our room.

Tomorrow is our final walkthrough, and we sign papers for the current house. It should fund Tuesday which means we can sign the final papers for the new house and move by Wednesday hopefully. It's going to be a long week.

When we did our walk through last week it was the little things that were exciting. The closet organizers, the countertop, the sink that has a smooth surface from the countertop so that there's not a seam for junk to get caught in. Things like that make me happy. (Yes, I realize that I sound shallow ) I was there at like 9 pm last week one day and there were tons of people out walking in the neighborhood. I'm liking that too since it's a good sign that the neighborhood is safe if there are that many people out after dark. The neighborhood is also condusive to walkers with the walking paths through it. I'm anxious to get there.

Lace, panties

That's what the box closest to my front door says in huge letters.... I have a couple friends from Utah that volunteered to come down and help me pack for the big move in FIVE DAYS!!! I left them unattended with sharpees. Of course in the box are things from the linen closet- including a lace tablecloth and some thick potty training panties. Won't the Elder's Quarum get a kick out of that? I hope they pay attention to the punctuation.

I'm very, very grateful for the help though. (Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you Char and Sabra). I firmly believe that it's a lot easier to pack up someone else's things then your own. You don't feel the need to sort and toss ect.

We did our walk through yesterday at the new house. I'm so ready to move. I'm wanting to be in a bigger space, I'm wanting to unpack and feel 'settled' and I'm ready to walk Ashley to school rather then driving 20 minutes to take her. It also feels like this summer has been non-stop. We've either had visitors at our house or been visitors at someone else's house every weekend but maybe 3 this summer. One of those was the weekend after Corinne was born. It's been nuts.

My back has been out for about 3 weeks now. Usually when this happens I'm feeling pretty good after a couple days flat on my back. This time I'm not healing as quickly. Part of it is that I've not been able to just lay down and recover- instead I've been taking drugs (dr. perscribed ) and trying to get stuff done. I don't see that ending for at least a couple more weeks though. I've been seeing a Chiropractor pretty much daily to try and get this taken care of and get to the point that I can not have this happen anymore. I've got a disc in my spine that's deteriorated and apparently if I can get my spine to be aligned correctly then I can regrow that disc with the correct exercises. I just have too much going on to be flat on my back!

Anyway, break over, I need to get back to work!

I got tons of compliments on how great it tasted as well as how good it looked. Kim and Spencer really liked it too, which I guess is important. I think I enjoy my siblings receptions even more then my own because I get to sit and visit with people I haven't seen in a long time. My reception was fun- but stressful, theirs I get to sit and enjoy.

Monday was Megan's 3rd birthday so we celebrated on Sunday night with everyone (except Spencer and Kim and Samantha). Here's a picture of her Dora cake (and I know boots is the wrong color):

Here are all the cousin's except Samantha. My parents now have nine granddaughters!! Of the nine seven of them are 3 years old or younger. CRAZY!!

What a crazy weekend. It's going to be followed by an even crazyier week! We do our walk through on our new house tomorrow and then move Monday! We stopped by last night on our way into town and it's looking pretty close to done. Even the front yard landscaping is in. Now I've just got to unpack and clean up our house from our trip so that we can pack and clean up our house for the move. I'm tired just thinking about it!

What a weekend!!

Last weekend my brother Spencer got married. It was crazy!! I'll start at the beginning...

Wednesday night we drove up to Utah, we didn't leave until 7ish and didn't get to the hotel until 3am. I hurt my back last week and was on some pretty significant pain killers so Steve drove the whole way. Once we got there Annika wouldn't sleep unless Steve was holding her- so he didn't get to sleep much at all that night.

Thursday we got up early and I spent the day making an anniversary cake for my parents. I'd brought tons of cake stuff from home so that I wouldn't have to buy much in Utah- I forgot my tacklebox full of bags and tips though!! I ended up rebuying stuff I already had to make the anniversary cake. My parent's had their 30th a couple weeks before. We surprised them with dinner at an Italian restraunt in Provo (Octavio's). They had no idea we were planning a party for them. Here's the cake: (my maiden name is Pechin- pronounced peach-in, so it's our family peach tree)

After dinner I went back to the friend's house I was using to bake and decorate cakes at to finish baking the wedding cake and groom's cake. I didn't get a picture of the groomscake- I'll have to see if someone else did and if they can email it to me.

Friday was the wedding. I frantically finished the cake Friday morning just in time to get to the wedding at 3. The wedding was nice. My brother married a girl named Kim (who I love) who has a daughter (3 years old) from her first marriage. Here's a picture of the newest Pechin family:

We have a moving date!!

YAY! Things have been up in the air trying to correlate the closing dates between houses. It now looks like we'll be able to close both houses on the 12th- and we'll pay to stay in this house one more day so we can actually move stuff. YAY!! I'm so happy not to have to move twice! After our busy wedding/family weekend next week we spend packing and getting ready to move. Then Monday we actually move! Wahoo!! I can't believe it's finally here. The fact that it's really only two weeks away is a little overwhelming to me. It seems to have snuck up on us.

Ashley started school yesterday. She loved it. She made one friend who she played with on the playground and ate lunch with. I asked her what her name was and she couldn't remember. LOL I told her that her assignment today was to find out her name and remember it.

School starts on Monday!!

School starts Monday, I'm not sure who's more excited, me or Ashley. Ashley is going to be a first grader this year- which brings us to the delima- what to have for lunch? Should she buy lunch or take lunch? Ashley desperately wants to bring lunch so that she can have a cool lunchbox.... I desperately want her to buy lunch, it's worth the $1.40 a day for me to not have to pack it. After seeing the REALLY long line to pay for lunches today I'm thinking that she'll be taking lunch for the first day at least. I'm hoping we can compromise and buy lunch some days and take lunch other days.

We met her teacher, Mrs. Gallineau, who seems very nice. We also found her seat and walked around the school a little bit. For the first couple of weeks until we move I'll be driving her to school. But once we get moved in then she gets to walk! That means that Megan, Annika, Corinne and I get to walk as well. I'm excited to not have to fight traffic at the school (which stinks- at least at her school last year it did). The neighborhood we're moving into has walking paths that connect the three phases of the neighborhood together- which end at the elementary school! Yay! So Megan and Annika can actually walk if they want and we don't have to worry about traffic. It'll be great.

Speaking of our house- it's almost done! YAY! The wood floors downstairs are in and the outside is painted. There isn't much left to do except for putting in the carpet upstairs, the front landscaping and then cleaning up the construction mess. Now that our house is sold I'm getting excited that we're almost ready to move. We've got my brother's wedding next week though, then we come home and start packing!! YAY! Well, not yay that I have to pack, but yay that moving into our new home is that close. I'm ready for more space for sure.

A couple good friends from Utah are coming down to help me pack for a couple days. So that will make it go faster. It also means we get to play in the evenings (YAY!)
